As announced in Railway Budget for running of a weekly express train between Purulia & Villupuram and to provide better facilities to the commuters, Railways have decided to introduce a new train between Purulia & Villupuram w.e.f. from 21stApril 2012.
On the inaugural run, Purulia-Villupuram-Puruliaweekly Express has been inaugurated from Purulia and was run as a special train on open fast times towards Villupuram. However, the regular service of 22606/22605 Villupuram-Purulia-VillupuramExpress will commence from Villupuram w.e.f. 21st April’12 & from Purulia w.e.f. 23rd April’2012.
22606/22605 Villupuram-Purulia-Villupuram Weekly Superfast Express will leave Villupuramat 10.40hrs on every Saturday w.e.f. 21st April 2012 and will arrive at Purulia at 23.10hrs on the next days. In the return direction, this train will leave Puruliarat 10.35hrs on every Monday w.e.f. 23rd April’2012 and will arrive at Villupuram at 23.00hrson the following days.
This train has one AC-2 tier, one AC-3 tier, Six Sleeper Class Coaches, Six General Second Class Coaches and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppages at Vijaywada, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Balasore, Belda, Hijli, Midnapur, Bishnupur, Bankura and Adra between Villupuram & Purulia.
